Hi everyone! My name’s Eevee and I’m the therapy dog for Genuine Healthcare. You may see me hanging around the office sometimes! Therapy dogs are trained to help when emotions become overwhelming and to provide different kinds of treatment-related assistance. I’ve been working hard on my certification, and I’m so excited to offer wonderfully adorable and fluffy support! But alas, I am still learning and may sometimes get excited or a little loud… If this happens, please be patient with me! You see, I’m on my own journey too, learning and growing every day!

That’s why I love my job! Here at Genuine Healthcare, we understand that everyone is at a different place in their lives and mental health – and no matter where they’re at, they’re worthy of the best care and attention! Because of this, we do our best to help with the many unique challenges people face by offering a variety of healing methods. Some of the struggles we help with are depression, post traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, mood imbalances, schizophrenia, and addiction. Even though everyone goes through some of these things at some point, we know that everyone’s experience is different. Because of this, we try to offer a diversity of support, like TMS, telemedicine visits, Spravato, and medication management! As a dog, I’m probably not the best person to ask about these services… but if you’d like to know more, you’re always welcome to call our office!

Now, I’ve been talking a lot about mental health, but what is mental health? Mental health is a very important aspect of our daily lives that affects our thoughts, actions, and emotions. It is, in essence, our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. Many things can affect mental health, including but not limited to trauma, abuse, isolation, shame, embarrassment, family history, genes, stress, and loss. Everyone experiences mental health struggles at some point, to some degree – and that is why we are here to help!

I’ve decided to start this blog to help others learn about mental health, and to share my own journey and thoughts – because we don’t ever have to do this alone, you know? So, if you’re interested in knowing more, or ever have any questions, please always feel free to leave a comment! And stay tuned for future posts!
